After all, beings from the vast extents of the universe (as well as local beings who have access to the CW website) picked out challenges from Season 1 as their favorites, thus subjecting another group of beauties and geeks to suffer through what I had to do three seasons ago.
After emerging victorious from the Elimination Room, Erin pledged revenge. If she had any choice in the matter, Will and Rebecca would be toast, which was fairly reminiscent of Richard’s insistence that he was gonna take out Chuck if the opportunity arose. Well, it didn’t happen before. This time… revenge is sweet, ain’t it?
Thinking about Sam and Rebecca making out on the bunk bed above Nicole… icky. Whatever happened to the necktie on the doorknob to indicate “I’m having sex, so bugger off!”? Then again, I don’t think I’ve heard of anything to indicate “I’m asleep, so bugger off and don’t have sex!”
Geeks giving Sam a massage and Sam getting a massage from a bunch of geeks… also icky.
The geeks’ challenge has been the only time when I liked having multiple people called out before declaring the winner. “Three people tied for second!” Calling out John’s name, then saying he came in second… I couldn’t stop laughing at his reaction.
(Incidentally, I take some satisfaction in knowing that no one was stupid enough to grind his knuckles into anyone’s back.)
These beauties were lucky—they had enough materials for a couple launches. When Krystal’s rocket blew up all over her shirt, that was it. No second chances. Except when the challenge was over and they let everyone finish putting their rocket together and launch it at their own pace. Except for Scarlet. Nope, they needed our rocket to get a second take on Caitilin’s launch. Bastards…
Yes, Rebecca, everyone knows that picking you was an act of revenge. Suck it up.
As for Sam’s choice for elimination, he tried to prove me wrong by claiming he used the “dartboard method”: “There was no couple that really stuck out.” Everyone knew it was a lie—he wanted a team that Will and Rebecca could beat so she’d stay in the mansion—but at least he tried.
And why the hell wasn’t he the first person in the room giving Rebecca comfort? Jasmine was trying to help, telling Will to get some other people into the room while Rebecca continued her emotional meltdown, and then Sam came in to give her a hug. I’m guessing it was only a hug because making out in front of a large group of beauties and geeks seems like a major party foul. I wouldn’t know, but I think it’s a pretty good guess.
Honestly, I kinda wonder if Rebecca held a grudge against Will. He was the one who was power-tripping (according to what everyone saw, anyway), he gave the poorly-chosen reason for picking Jesse and Erin, he seemed like the guy who everyone wanted to get rid of. Sure, that whole Sam/Rebecca relationship rubbed a lot of people the wrong way (and rubbed those two in a very good way), but if Will had seemed a bit more humble, they might have had “snuggle buddies” through the rest of the season. And continued to get their freak on while Nicole was in the room. Icky.
