The other day at work, I was discharging a Somali family from the ER and was about to wish them a “Happy Holidays” or some other such thing and caught myself before saying anything.
I instead asked them if they celebrated anything around this time of year. “No.” was the reply… Felt kinda bad after that. 🙁
So now I’m usually going with preemptive holidays like “Happy Independence Day!!”
