Everyone vs. One in The Glass House

Yes, I wrote that title correctly. Normally, the concept would be something like “one vs. everyone”, but The Glass House is in an interesting situation. WARNING: This entry contains some spoilers, so if you don’t want to know what the final results of tonight’s episode will be, come back and read this when the show is over.

I still hope that my friend Steph wins the whole thing, but at this point, it’s pretty unlikely. Actually, it’s pretty unlikely for everyone but one of the contestants to get that final $250K because the voting public is largely in favor of Andrea winning. Why? Because she’s a Mormon.

I know, I know, that seems like a blatant attack against Mormonism, but consider this: “Although Andrea was “born and raised” in Southern California, a major newspaper in Salt Lake City, Utah covered her appearance on The Glass House, asking “’Can the Mormon contestant win in the ‘Glass House’?” (Deseret News). When I Google that article title – within quotation marks – it returns 4,680 results. It’s been picked up by many LDS news feeds, newsletters, etc – that 4,680 is only a tiny fraction of the number of people this has reached.”

I pulled this from a post on teamsteph.net entitled “Why Joy Needs to Return from Limbo… Even if You’re a Kevin Fan!” (If you’re even slightly interested, I recommend taking a look because it analyses the situation much deeper than just that single paragraph.)

Seeing 4,680 articles with that specific title (which means it doesn’t include stuff like blog entries that might be entitled “One vs. Everyone in The Glass House”) means everyone—not just Steph—could be in major trouble.

While they didn’t show the specifics of what happened during the live feed, we know that Joy and Andrea will be going into Limbo tonight. The Mormons (as well as the other people rooting for Andrea) will be voting for her to come back; if she does, the odds of anyone else being able to win become exponentially smaller because Andrea will continue to get more and more votes from her supporters as the final episode approaches. (Trust me on this one: Beauty and the Geek was on the air for six episodes and my high school eventually sent a postcard to all the alumni announcing I was on the show for Week Five.)

The viewers who vote are the ones who make the ultimate decisions for the Glass House, so at this point, there are only two alliances that really matter: Andrea and Everyone-Who-Isn’t-Andrea. For the sake of Steph, Joy, Erica, Jeffrey, Gene, and even Kevin, we really hope that you vote for Joy to come back next week.

(We’ll have just 18 hours between the end of the episode and when voting people out of Limbo closes, but why wait until the last minute? Vote to bring Joy back ASAP! Team Everyone-Who-Isn’t-Andrea thanks you.)

ADDENDUM: Just so you don’t have to go searching on ABC’s website, here’s a direct link to The Glass House’s “View-And-Vote” page.

  1. I retweeted a link to this blog post and added the hashtags #TheGlassHouse and #TeamEveryoneWhoIsntAndrea — I’m hoping at least one other person throughout the Twitterverse uses the latter before voting ends tomorrow because that’d be awesome…
