Because I predicted a large chance of Andrea-win at the beginning of this final episode, but in the end, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. Hell, as one of the final three, she ended up with the fewest votes, whereas Kevin emerged victorious! Cha-ching!
My mother’s theory for how he pulled out the win? He’s an attractive dude, so he had a majority of the female vote. (She also suggested that females are more likely to watch reality TV than males, but I imagine “Kevin’s a dude” was the more important factor.)
So Kevin took home the grand prize of $250,000; Stephanie came in second with her bribe money of $37,600; Mike gave himself a couple thousand during one of the challenges (he lost the challenge because of it)… Not everyone went home broke, but compared to $250K, a lot of the contestants don’t have much to brag about, especially considering how ABC presented them on TV.
The show is over, so I’m at peace now. Congratulations to Kevin, even though he’s not Steph. Congratulations to everyone else who didn’t get prize money, but still got a lot of national television exposure, even though some of them are jerks. And most importantly, congratulations to all the viewers and voters who survived this train wreck. The Glass House wouldn’t have been the same without you.
Women are also more likely to vote for another woman, especially when they feel like they’re alot like them…. j/s. It’s not just ONE thing, as you’re portraying it to be. Kevin’s a likeable guy (to both genders) and is ur all-american type guy, and people love it, and the majority voted… stop being a sore loser cause whoever YOU liked the most didn’t win… the world doesn’t revolve around YOU…. the majority realize he was just a good ole boy.
The world doesn’t revolve around me? Good God, someone should have told me sooner…
Nikki, you sound upset, so I’ll explain a couple things from my point of view, see if it’ll make you feel better.
1) I never said it was ONE thing that led him to win, I said “Kevin’s a dude” was probably a more important factor than the gender ratio of people watching reality TV.
2) I don’t consider myself a sore loser because Steph, who I wanted to win because she’s my friend, left the house voluntarily several weeks ago.
3) You’re right, Kevin made himself look like a good ole boy, avoiding drama whenever possible (the editors may have had a hand in that as well). If you watched the live feeds, you’d know that “avoiding drama” meant avoiding some situations and questions as much as possible:
“How do you feel about this issue?”
“I don’t have any feelings about it.”
All of that said, he seems like a decent guy and my congratulations were sincere. Yay for Kevin! Better now?
