I took an extended weekend to visit someone out in Wisconsin, had a lot of fun hanging out, got to spend an afternoon with an old friend from college… it was a blast. I was looking forward to the rest of the week until I walked in the front door and bad news started coming from every angle.
* While I was gone, our pet dog Kao had three seizures in two days and was diagnosed with diabetes. She’s started taking phenobarbitol for the seizures (which seems to be working) and Dad went out to get her first doses of insulin this afternoon.
* I found out that while I was in Wisconsin, there were some misunderstandings, I did things I shouldn’t have done and didn’t do things I should have done—unfortunately, tactfulness isn’t one of my strong points—and seriously upset the person I was staying with. It’s reminiscent of when I visited an old college friend down in Atlanta; she now holds a serious grudge against me and I can’t really blame her. Much like last time, all I can say is that I’m sorry and hope you can forgive me eventually.
* Oh yeah, and I failed the bar exam, too.
What a crappy way to end a vacation…
