Cold and snowy vs. warm and fuzzy

Sad to say, but I’ve been appreciating the weather outside because the high temps are getting just above freezing (which is better than getting just above a negative number). However, even though I get a mild case of frostbite when I walk from my toasty house to my chilly car and then again when I get back out of the car by the time it’s finally toasty, there are some moments in life that cannot be frozen over.

On Sunday morning, I spent Christmas Day with my family at my brother’s house. My parents, my brothers, their significant others, my step-niece, their cat… all of us eating brunch and enjoying each other’s company. No overloading on turkey and falling asleep; no sitting down on the couch and not talking while watching football; no sitting in the corner, sticking our fingers in our ears and going “LA-LA-LA-LA-I-CAN’T-HEAR-YOU-LA-LA-LA!!!” Sunday might not have been like our usual holiday gathering, but it felt very special nonetheless.

In turn, I want you to ignore the outdoor weather, get all toasty warm on the inside and I wish you all the best of times and hope you had/are having/will have a kick-ass holiday season.
