It seems there’s at least one website that took something I wrote out of context and posted it up on the Internet to support a “Richard-was-a-paid-actor” conspiracy theory. I wrote this in the comment section of one of my earlier posts, but I want to put it on the main page because I think anyone who buys into that theory because of what I wrote is just plain stupid.
“Maybe I didn’t make it clear beforehand, but I don’t think making minor adjustments [to the footage] had anything to do with a “Richard-was-a-paid-actor” theory—I think it’s just because he’s doing interviews for Season 2, if not more. (Hell, if I remember right, they cut out a clip of me shaving before my date with Mindi and I’m fairly certain that had nothing to do with Richard’s personality.) Yes, he was definitely playing up to the cameras, but I doubt he was an actor hired to influence the show in a particular manner. I think that’s just who Richard is.”
So to anyone who quotes me and takes those quotes out of context… I obviously can’t take legal action—I did write those things—but that doesn’t mean I can’t say for the record that I think you’re a jackass and I’d appreciate it if you never associate me with your crap theories again.
